 Position Overview:
EYA, the leading real estate developer in the DMV area, is seeking a Real Estate Development Intern to join our team for the summer. If you have a passion for urban development and a desire to gain hands-on experience in the real estate industry, this opportunity is for you!

As a Real Estate Development Intern, you will play an integral role in our Land Acquisition and Development teams, working on projects that shape vibrant, walkable communities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the full lifecycle of real estate development—from site selection and market analysis to financial modeling and project execution. You’ll collaborate with industry experts, contribute to real-world development decisions, and gain exposure to some of the most exciting projects in the DMV region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new market opportunities, leveraging tools such as market research, zoning analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Support feasibility assessments of potential development sites, reviewing economic and demographic trends, zoning laws, and infrastructure considerations.
  • Prepare financial proformas, reports, and presentations to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand entitlement processes, design considerations, and development strategies.
  • Participate in site visits, stakeholder meetings, and project planning discussions to gain a first-hand understanding of real estate development.
  • Maintain organized records of market research, deal pipeline updates, and strategic recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Business, Urban Planning, Finance, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in real estate development, urban planning, and market analysis.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
General information:
  • Internship Duration: May – August
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid format
    • In-person: Tuesday – Thursday at our main office in Bethesda, MD
    • Remote: Monday & Friday
