Position Summary
EYA, the premier residential developer in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area, is seeking a Project Accountant in Bethesda, MD. This is an opportunity to participate in the full spectrum of accounting responsibilities including financial reporting, cash planning, variance analysis, inter-departmental projects, and other related facets of real estate accounting. This position reports directly to the Project Accountant Manager. You will be working and collaborating with project teams including land acquisition and development team, executive leadership, and construction and warranty personnel. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is detail oriented, analytical, tech savvy, a great communicator, and a team player.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the financial management of multiple projects
Prepare monthly Financial Statement reporting for internal and external investors
Collaborate with project managers to prepare A&D and construction loan draws
Review closing disclosures for each settlement to ensure compliance and accuracy
Review bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial transactions
Track and analyze project costs, ensuring alignment with budgets
Work with Accounts Payable to ensure timely process of invoices
Prepare forecasts and cash flow reports
Support month-end and year-end closing processes to include the posting of journal entries and cash receipts
Assist with financial audits and tax reporting requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA license preferred
1-3 years’ experience in public accounting required
Advance computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
Strong understanding of job cost accounting
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical capability and problem identification skills
Passion for quality work with excellent attention to detail and initiative
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule. The role requires in-person attendance at our main office in Bethesda, MD, three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). You have the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining two days.
